Goodwill Following damage to any building at your premises the Insurer will pay, up to the sum insured for ‘Goodwill’, for the actual cost of goodwill incurred by you when purchasing a business in order to maintain your business activities.Provided that:The Insurer will only pay these goodwill costs when the building that is damaged cannot or will not be repaired or rebuilt due to any refusal by any owner or lessor other than you to repair or rebuild; and any restrictions imposed by any legal authority; andthe purchase of the business is incurred because you were unable to continue your business at the premises as a result of the damage to the buildings not being repaired; andthe cause of the damage to the buildings would have been covered by the property insured cover section of your Policy had that building been insured under that section; andthe business that is purchased is similar to your business.
