Because Call The Underwriter works on behalf of lenders, we are legally required to collect payment directly from the lender. However, most lenders pass this cost on to the borrower at closing.

Best practice is to use a licensed loan servicer and include in the terms that the borrower will pay the monthly servicing fees.

Loan origination fees are typically not included on seller finance loans. Please note that total fees charged to borrower (underwriting, docs, orignation, etc) at closing should not exceed 2% of the total loan amount.

Call The Underwriter limits its service to ensuring that your note is federally compliant (not State) for all of the required Dodd-Frank (CFPB enforced) Ability to Repay (ATR) standards.

We do not specialize in the specific Note Origination laws in each state. As the Note Originator in your state, you must consult with an attorney and ensure you comply with your state’s Usury laws and any other applicable laws regulating your business activities.

Call The Underwriter works on behalf of lenders, and cannot legally collect payments for its' servicers from borrowers.

Lender agrees to promptly pay invoices directly to Call The Underwriter, and may recoup these fees from their borrower at closing.
