GLOBAL COUNCIL FOR THE PROMOTION OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE (GCPIT) is committed to stepping up its engagement with the world on a wide range of business verticals for the promotion of sustainable economic development.

We are looking for "Partner, Work Group, Steering Committee & High-level Advocacy Committee Members" to develop an understanding of the business, market and industry trends. Provide “wise counsel” on issues raised by the owners/directors or management (Businesses). Provide the directors and management with insights and ideas which can only come with distance from the day-to-day operations.

You should have Coaching Ability, A Passion for Something Other Than Making Money, An Action-Oriented Personality, Deep Industry Knowledge, Culture Fit, Communication and Networking Skills, Intelligence, Diversity and Experience.

To be the "Partner, Work Group, Steering Committee & High-level Advocacy Level Committee Member", you must be an entrepreneur or subject matter expert respectively.

For National/ Continental/ International Council - Min 20Yrs in Entrepreneurship/ Subject Matter Expertise; State Council - Min 10 Yrs in Entrepreneurship/ Subject Matter Expertise;
District Council - Min 5 Yrs in Entrepreneurship/ Subject Matter Expertise.

Skills and attributes
A nominee for Partner, Work Group, Steering Committee & High-level Advocacy Level Committee position should:
- have expertise and interest in the field of the Section;
- be able to communicate in the main language used by the Section’s Council in order to be able to contribute to work and discussions;
- have a willingness and ability to devote time and energy to the role to perform their confederation commitments – this is usually several hours per month;
- have financial support and time allowance to attend physical meetings of the International/ Continental/National/State/ District Council (see immediately below)
- act with respect, trust, confidentiality and transparency within the council and recognise the need to protect personal and privileged information. When considering council matters, International/ Continental/ National/ State/ District committee member must declare any conflicts of interest and abstain from discussions where they have a conflict or potential conflict of interest.
Roles and responsibilities
A nominee for a Partner, Work Group, Steering Committee & High-level Advocacy Level Committee position should:
- attend and participate in business meetings each year from the moment of their election up to and including the next three years.
- contribute actively to programme, which might include planning events, revising guidelines or standards, preparing translations, assisting in the growth of the community or other documents;
- contribute ideas and leadership for the direction of the GCPIT’s work;
- be able to communicate on behalf of the GCPIT, whether that is by contributing to, or managing, social media, mailing lists, web pages, etc;
- participate in and respond to online communication of the State/ District Council during the year, for example, via email, conference calls, and document sharing and collaboration;
- contribute to the planning and delivery of the GCPIT’s participation in the flagship events.
